From the outset of the pandemic I ran many long, socially distanced miles to help stay healthy, strong, and happy. I also had many conversations with 3rd Creek Foundation’s partners since the pandemic began, and I was, and remain very concerned about how many of the people we exist to serve, people experiencing extreme poverty, would manage to get through this crisis.

I set up #raise20run20 as a birthday fundraiser. I planned to run 20 miles, to raise $20,000, and I reached out to you to ask for donations of $20, a sum that is very meaningful to a family used to relying on $2 per day.

With your support, we raised a fantastic $22,190 from over 100 donors to support pandemic-related relief efforts. These funds went to support 6 organizations. You can read more about how they’ll use the funds here.

While these funds are not enough for the overwhelming need in the world, they demonstrate that small amounts of capital given at the right time, can bring about significant change.
